thai pork pasta

We had our lovely friend Kelly over for dinner last week and we tried something new. Success! Say hi to Thai Pork Pasta.

Oh, and say hi to this little chickie that @amysquest sent me in the spring.

Start with fresh garlic. Grate about an inch of it.

Grate 2 garlic cloves too.

Measure out 1/4 cup of tamari or soy sauce.

3 tablespoons of honey.

2 tablespoons of tomato paste.

2 tablespoons of rice wine vinegar.

a tablespoon of sesame oil.

a teaspoon of sriracha.

And whiz it all ’round in a blender to get it all combined and smooth.

Now it’s time to get the stir fry together!

Chop up 1/3 head of cabbage

a jar of roasted red peppers

and a pound of pork chops.

Oh, and 3 bunches of scallions.

I decided to throw in some edamame too.

Get the pasta cooking.

Heat 2 tablespoons sesame oil in a skillet. I sure wish I had a wok.

Add the pork and cook until all sides are browned.

Throw the edamame in some boiling water.

Change the batteries in the camera because you’d hate to miss the rest of your recipe.

To the pork, add the cabbage.

And the red peppers.

Let that all cook while the pasta continues to cook.

When the pasta is done, drain and add to the pork.

Top with the edamame and the sauce.

Sprinkle on some toasted sesame seeds.

Look how pretty.

Add the scallions just prior to serving.

And it’s as yummy as it is pretty!
